Description:
As I mentioned in the previous section, ClarisWorks/AppleWorks/AppleWorks slide show is a wonderful way to present information to groups. You are able to prepare the information ahead of time. You can click and move each page as you go or set a timer for it to move on its own.
I have used slide show for our class store. My children must invent a product that we use for math in the spring. We do daily shopping with the products.
Materials:
Macintosh Computer,ClarisWorks/AppleWorks
Procedures:
Each child was asked to create several story problems. The problems were then typed in ClarisWorks/AppleWorks and presented, using slide show. The children must watch the monitor, read the information, and then solve the problem. I set the program to "loop," so it keeps playing over and over again. You will find how fast your children can work. I always set it very slowly in the beginning.
Tip: (This program is also very helpful when doing an Open House presentation for parents. You can put your whole agenda on the computer and just click through the presentation.)
